One Stormy Night
"Crash!" The lights went out and I heard something smash to the ground. There was an amazing thunderstorm and I was alone and scared--nowhere to go--except to hide in my fear. That night before it started raining, everyone left to go to dinner--I didn't want to go. I honestly didn't know they would be gone for so long. They never called to check on me. Maybe something happened to them, but the loud sound made me think that I was in danger too, right?
I finally found a place to hide that was safe and warm, I still worried about my family though. What if something did happen. I was home alone in a dangerous storm. Every few minutes I heard loud thunder after thunder and I saw lightening after lightening that lasted the whole night.
I was shaking and shivering the whole time. I was soooo scared. Since there was no power, there was no way for me to get a hold of anyone or know what time it really was. I had lost track a long time ago after a few hours.
"BOOM!" The whole house shook, quivered and quaked and I closed my eyes tightly. I tried to block out every sound, but it just wouldn't go away. I tried to go to sleep for a little while, but the loud continuous sounds of the storm was too much to bear. I laid in bed thinking of what might have happened to my family--sometimes thinking what might happen to me during this storm.
"Aahhh!" I screamed! The house was just struck by lightening, but nothing happened except the freight in me grew ten times greater. I finally fell asleep because I was so tired, but I had so many nightmares and couldn't get them out of my head. When I woke up, I was already shaking and was still very scared.
After a few hours, it was not so dark outside and the storm weakened, but I was still frightened because no one was home yet--it was at least 24 hours later! I just knew at this point that no one was coming home. I could feel the tears falling down my face as I pictured my family dying.
When the storm was over and the power came back on, the phone finally rang. It was my grandmother who said, "Taylor, you are going to be staying with me for a while." I knew my deepest fears had come true. I heard my grandmother crying in the background. My family had died and I would never see them again, just because I refused to go with them. Then, I realized that she was happy that I was still alive. She said that my family was safe at her house and they want to see me.
As everyone recovered from the storm, I felt like everything bad was gone and I could see my family again. A storm like this never happened again and I always went to family dinners after not going to this one.
My family lived happily ever after.
